According to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid are about could habe tabled a €20 million plus Sneijder offer to Inter, a deal which the Italian club would not be averse to.

Sneijder will see his opportunities at the Bernabeu very limited following the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. Therefore, a potential swap plus money deal could be benefical for all parties, if Maicon truly wants to leave Inter and jump on board Florentino Perez’ rollercoaster ride.

Maicon’s recent comments suggest that he feels neglected at the San Siro and this alerted clubs all across Europe.

Inter Milan’s coach Jose Mourinho has stated he was keen to sign the former Deco.

The Portugal international has not performed at his usual level in his first season at Stamford Bridge, and has confirmed that he was willing to leave during the summer.

This move now seems closer after Mourinho spoke of his interest to sign the playmaker.

Speaking to The Sun, Mourinho said, “Deco helped me to become European champion and I helped Deco to become the European Footballer of the Year.

“If it will be possible for him to come to Inter and for us to work together again it would be something wonderful for both of us.”

Inter Milan have overtaken Manchester City in the race to sign Samuel Eto’o. FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed yesterday he has held talks with Massimo Moratti, his opposite number at the San Siro, over the Cameroon international.

The Champions League winners are hopeful of keeping €30million-rated Eto’o but he has only one year left on his contract.

And so far FC Barcelona are not willing to meet the forward’s new-deal demands. The striker wants to earn €10 million a year, far from the plans that they have in Camp Barça for the Cameroon player.

Laporta said: “There was a meeting with Moratti, because Mourinho likes Eto’o a lot.

“We want him to renew his contract but not at any cost.”

However, Laporta denied any swap deal involving Inter’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be on the agenda.

Maicon threatens with leaving Inter

Maicon threatens with leaving Inter

Maicon suprised today with some complains about the way he is treated in Inter Milan: “I’m not a phenomenon, but I am not any old player. For three years Inter has treated me with indifference. Perhaps because they were preoccupied with keeping hold of (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic; (they gave him) a new contract, special bonuses,” Maicon told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’m not jealous of Ibra, he’s a phenomenon. This isn’t the problem, I’m just tired of being neglected.”

We do not know if the 28-year-old defender is actually jealous or he is raising his voice in order to get a pay raise. He has been linked to both Chelsea and Real Madrid, which earlier in the season were reportedly tracking him.

“I said straightaway that I would stay with Inter (when Madrid registered its interest) to help them win this cursed Champions League,” he said.

Inter was knocked out of the competition by Manchester United in the round of 16 and Maicon missed the run-in to a fourth successive Italian league title following a knee injury.

Eto’o Asks for the Moon (or €10m)

Eto’o is launching a new campaign to see his yearly earnings significantly increased. Now, his agent has linked the Cameroon striker with Inter Milan claiming that a swap deal with Inter Milan involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic is possible if he is paid €10m a year. It seems like quite a lot of money for a player that is not considered a world class at the level of Cristiano Rolando, Ibrahimovic or Kaka.

José Maria Mesalles told the Italian press that “To obtain the ‘yes’ of Samuel there is need of a golden handshake and a remuneration equal to that received by Ibrahimovic.”

Eto’o’s contract finishes by June 2010 and is threatening with waiting and agree a deal as a free transfer next January if he does not receive a golden offer from FC Barcelona or any other club during summer.

In recent days, reports have suggested an Eto’o-Ibrahimovic swap deal as well as an Iniesta-Ibrahimovic deal with the Catalan club eager to bring Zlatan to the Nou Camp.

Eto’o is willing to stick to his demands with interest from England, including free-spending Manchester City. Reports also claim that Eto’o could wait and agree a deal as a free transfer next January.

Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona has admitted that: “Samu is a top-class player and there are offers for him. He has given us everything, and I don’t just mean his goals, but also his attitude and character.”

Inter Milan won their fourth Scudetto in a row after beating Siena 3-0 last saturday. This is the 17th Serie A title for the Nerazurri, becoming the third club to reach four titles in a row in the history of the competition, after Juventus and Torino which made the same accomplishment in the early 1930s and late 1940’s respectively.

During the game against Siena, Inter played with aggressiveness and despite being aware already that they were the champions after the A.C Milan loss, Inter knew their celebration will not be complete if they did not win consistently against Siena.

Ricardo Carvalho has revealed that he is open to the idea of leaving Chelsea this summer. He has been linked to Inter Milan, to re-join his former coach Jose Mourinho.

“I am available for a club who wishes to have me,” the centre-half said.

“But before being approached, an agreement must be found with Chelsea, although I am delighted that several clubs are interested in me.

“I have had four extraordinary years at Chelsea till this year, which has not been very good, indeed the worst of my career. I wasn’t in great shape because I haven’t played.

“But if there is no transfer, I will be fine at Chelsea.”
